GradesI do my best to provide students with grades within a reasonable amount of time; however, with 170+ students, grading often becomes very time consuming. This is particularly true for written assignments. Please be patient as I evaluate assignments and give meaningful feedback for students to consider as they continue developing their reading, writing, and critical thinking skills.
I can be reached at [email protected].
I typically stop checking my school email after 4:30pm on weekdays and do not check it on weekends or over school breaks. The best time for a student to ask me questions is during class or office hours. Questions about homework/projects/etc. are not emergencies. If you are emailing regarding an urgent matter, please indicate in the subject that it is urgent. I will do my best to respond in an appropriate timeframe. All other emails will be addressed during school hours. |
Helpful ResourcesBelow is a list of online resources that students may find helpful for their success in class:
Outside ReadingIn order to help develop better literacy and critical thinking skills and to broaden their vocabularies, students are assigned Outside Reading. Students select age appropriate books of their choice to reach their total page count (varies per grade level and semester). Students are responsible for keeping rack of the titles, authors, and number of pages they read. Credit is based partially on total pages read and on the in-class reflections they write.
If you are unsure what book to read next, please check out the class library, the student suggestion catalog, or the CVHS Library. The library keeps an up to date list of new books here. |
